Birdman en The Grand Budapest Hotel meeste Oscarnominaties

BirdmanenThe Grand Budapest Hotelzijn met elk negen nominaties de favorieten bij de Oscars.

Beide films hebben nominaties in beste film, beste regie (respectievelijk Alejandro González Iñárritu en Wes Anderson), beste cinematografie en beste originele scenario.Birdman scoort verder goed in de cast: beste acteur (Michael Keaton), beste acteur in een bijrol (Edward Norton) en beste actrice in een bijrol (Emma Stone). The Grand Budapest Hotel is genomineerd als beste score en verder nog in een flink aantal technische categorieën.

The Imitation Gamevolgt met acht nominaties, met daarnaBoyhoodenAmerican Snipermet elk zes. De filmSelma, over Martin Luther King, die in Amerika veel positieve recensies kreeg, sleepte er maar twee in de wacht, waaronder dan weer wel Beste Film. Een verrassing is Marion Cotillard voor haar rol inDeux Jours, Une Nuit. Wie er buiten de boot vielen, waren Jake Gyllenhaal voor zijn veelgeprezen rol inNightcrawler en Timothy Spall voorMr. Turner.

Nederland was lang in de race met Lucia de B.van Paula van der Oest - de film stond op de shortlist van beste niet-Engelstalige films - maar wist niet tot de genomineerden door te dringen. Ook de Nederlands-Zweedse cameraman Hoyte van Hoytema werd voor zijn camerawerk inInterstellarniet beloond. Wel kreeg de korte Nederlandse animatiefilmA Single Life een nominatie en maakt 22 februari kans op het gouden beeldje. De film van Joris Oprins, Job Roggeveen en Marieke Blaauw is hier als voorfilm vertoond bijGooische Vrouwen 2en op die manier door 1,5 miljoen mensen al gezien.

Op zondag 22 februari worden de Oscars uitgereikt in Los Angeles. Dit is in Nederland live te zien bij Film1, ook voor niet-abonnees.
